Signs and symptoms may range from dizziness and blurred vision caused by postural hypotension to syncope on standing.

If treatment is needed to maintain an adequate blood pressure, phenylephrine (a vasoconstrictor) will decrease the effect of guanadrel, but it must be used with care because the patient may be hypersensitive to phenylephrine.
