Orthostatic hypotension (with dizziness and weakness) is frequent in people taking guanadrel. Rarely, fainting upon standing or exercise may occur. Supine blood pressure measurements are not an adequate assessment of the effects of guanadrel. This orthostatic hypotension is a risk to those with known cerebral or coronary vascular disease and should be avoided in them.
